The grade doesn’t describe the number — it describes the document behind it. Read the full published methodology.
Grade A — Primary document
SEC filings, court records, audited statements. Filed under legal obligation, with penalties for falsification. Treated as established fact.
Grade B — Reported
On-the-record reporting from outlets with editorial fact-checking. Credible, but secondhand — we haven't pulled the underlying filing ourselves.
Grade C — Unverified
No identifiable primary source. Published only when it's the sole figure in circulation, and marked unverified rather than presented as fact.
